England v South Africa - Who will be the top bowler?

With England and South Africa’s first One Day International being abandoned due to rain, we now effectively have a four match series between these two sides.

The second encounter takes place on Tuesday from the Rose Bowl and weather permitting, it should be a fantastic encounter.

These two teams have some of the world’s best bowlers at their disposal, but who can be the leading man for their side with the ball?

Looking at England to begin with, Steven Finn is being tipped as the favourite to be the Three Lions main man with the ball on Tuesday.

Finn was in fantastic form in the recent Test match and now will want to take that into the one day format of the game. You can back him at 10/3 with Bet365 to be England’s top bowler.

With Stuart Broad out of the side, a lot of the responsibility could now fall onto James Anderson’s and Graeme Swann’s shoulders.

Both of these are experienced and have a knack for taking important wickets. Their latest betting offer sees them at 7/2.

As for South Africa, two of their main men from the Test series – Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel are both available at 10/3 with Coral.

These two have shown what world class bowlers they are recently and will now look to show that they can do it in limited over cricket as well.

Wayne Parnell is considered by many as a one day specialist and he will know that a lot will be expected of him on Tuesday and in the series.

There would be nothing better for Parnell than to get his series off to a flyer. He can be backed at 4/1.

It looks set to be a great match and with so much batting talent on show as well as bowling, it might be very close.

England v South Africa First ODI - Who can shine with the bat?

England and South Africa have no time to rest after their Test match concluded at Lords yesterday as the first One Day International of the five match series between the two sides takes place on Friday from Cardiff.

Looking at the home side to begin with, they will of course be looking to bounce back from the disappointing Test series which saw them go down 2-0 and lose their place as the number one side in that format of the game.

Now though, Alistair Cook will take charge of the side as Andrew Strauss does not play in ODI’s.

Cook enjoyed a great deal of success with the team earlier in the summer as they thrashed Australia 4-0 and showed they are a force to be reckoned with in the fifty over game.

With the likes of Eoin Morgan in the side, the Three Lions have players that can take a game away from the opposition. Morgan is one of the best ODI batsmen around at the moment and he can be backed at 5/1 with Bet365 to be England’s leading scorer in this match.

As for South Africa, they will of course be full of confidence after their success already in England this summer.

It is now all about keeping their momentum going and showing they can dominate their opponents in all formats of the game.

AB De Villiers will take over from Graeme Smith as captain and he is usually devastating in the ODI game with his big hitting in the middle order.

De Villiers will want to lead by example and him being the Proteas main man with the bat is being offered at 7/2 with Ladbrokes.

Other betting offers see in Hashim Amla at 3/1 and Ian Bell at 7/2.

It certainly should be a fantastic match between these two top quality outfits and winning the first match could be key.
