Where next for Hooper?

Gary Hooper looks as though he has played his last game for Celtic, but just where he is going to be heading in the summer transfer window remains unsure.

Hooper has been linked with a move away from the Scottish Champions for a while now and it seems as though he wants to play in England, but it is unsure whether he will be in the Premier League or the Championship.

The Englishman has been heavily linked with a move to Queens Park Rangers recently and they are the 5/4 favourites to sign him in the summer window with SkyBet.

Rangers have made an offer from Hooper it seems and it does look as though he has had talks with the London club, but he might just be waiting to see if a Premier League comes in for him in the next few days.

Harry Redknapp wants to add a player of Hooper’s quality to the squad this campaign as he is looking to return to the Premier League.

However, a team that could have a big say in this move is Norwich City as they have been linked with Hooper since the January transfer window and had a number of bids turned down by Celtic the New Year.

Norwich are currently on their pre-season tour of America, but Chris Hughton is still expected to do plenty of business in the next couple of weeks. They are at 10/3 with BetVictor.

If they come in for Hooper and can offer him the right amount of cash, then he could finally make his move to Carrow Road.

Other clubs involved in terms of betting offers include West Ham at 6/1 and Newcastle United at 12/1.

Hooper is all but certain to be on the move, but where might he be heading?

We shall see in the next few days.

New Zealand v England third Test preview

The third and final Test match between England and New Zealand gets underway on Friday evening for those in the UK and it should be a cracker with the score tied at 0-0.

The Kiwis dominated the first encounter and could have won it but for the rain in Dunedin and England were in an extremely strong position with New Zealand following on in Wellington, but once again, the rain intervened.

Now, both sets of players will be praying for some good weather in Auckland and with the way the two Tests have gone so far, we should see a result.

England will be without Kevin Pietersen for this one as he has a knee injury that Alastair Cook wants sorted before the Ashes series in the summer, so Jonny Bairstow is set to be given the chance to show what he can do.

If they play at a similar level to the second Test, England should win this encounter comfortably, but they know their opponents are going to be up for this one.

New Zealand cricket has struggled in the last few years and even if they were able to draw the series, it would do wonders for the game.

One thing they can’t allow themselves to do is play for a draw though as it could land them in trouble. Instead, they have to try and attack and hope England are not quite at the races during the important stages of the game.

If we looking at a betting bonus or two for this one, you can see that the Three Lions are the big favourites to win the series as they can be backed at 4/6 with Bet365.

New Zealand are then available at 6/1, with the draw at 14/5.

For even more value though, the top batsman market is always good and backing Nick Compton to have another successful Test and be the leading scorer for England is at 5/1 with Boylesports.
