We've looked at the 15:30 in another post, but there's still plenty of racing excitement at Newbury on Saturday afternoon. We've looked through the other races to bring you the horses we think are worth backing.
In the 13:45 Dartmouth is currently the favourite, and based solely on form we can completely understand why. However, we have concerns over how well the ground will suit him. The slowest he's won on is good to soft - to be fair to him, that was arguably his best victory yet, in the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot. That said, though, we think he's going to face some stiff competition from Robin Of Navan. That horse has won twice on very soft ground, and will surely be very much in the reckoning here.
The best place to back Robin Of Navan is at Coral, at a very reasonable 11/4.
Conversely, in the 14:15 which follows, we think the favourite is the horse to be on. Legendary Lunch has recorded both of his wins on good to soft ground, which puts him among the most likely horses in this field to succeed on soft ground here.
Couple that with some excellent form, especially over this distance which he seems to favour, and we think Legendary Lunch is the pick of the bunch. The best place to back him is at PaddyPower, at a market leading 10/3.
Finally, the 14:50 Dubai Duty Free Handicap has one of the largest fields of the day. There are a number of excellent horses to choose from, and our eye is drawn to Muzdawaj. His latest win was over course and distance, and he does a great number is bursting from the back to the front in the sprint to the line. Our worry is that he is too capricious though. Cheekpieces recently seem to have calmed him a little, but if you want a slightly less mercurial bet we'd favour Baydar instead. His form looks impeccable as he goes into this race seeking his fourth win on the trot, and the best place to back him is at BoyleSports, who will give you the best price we've found, at 9/1.
