We've looked at the feature race from Goodwood in a previous post, but there's still plenty of racing to choose from on Saturday afternoon. We've looked through the races being broadcast on Channel 4 in order to bring you our selections.
The racing opens with the 14:45 from Goodwood, where Grecian Light is the current favourite to confirm form against three of the other runners after a good second place last time out. We fell that Kilmah is the horse to be on here, though. Her form looks more mixed, but her running is generally good and she has only every been up against Group company since his winning debut at Newmarket.
Over this distance and against easier company than last time out, we think she's worth backing, and the best place to back her is at Coral, who are offering a decent 9/2.
Later in the day, the Goodwood 15:55 has an intriguing lineup. The punters appear to be favouring Platitude and Goldmember if the odds are anything to go by, but to our eyes the longer priced Sweeping Up is a much more tempting option. She's still waiting for her first listed race win, but she's come runner up in four of her Group or listed starts. She's been entering shorter races than this of late but her last two runs over 1m 4f we're as impressive and this step back up in trip reminds us of her win over this trip in 2015.
She's a definite contender here, and the best place to back her is at SkyBet, at a market best price of 9/2.
Finally, the 16:30 Celebration Mile is the smallest field of the day at Goodwood, and it looks like being a battle of the generations. The three five year olds in the race have all impressed in their running at times, but statistically this has been a younger horse's race in recent years and the two three year olds who are entered both look to have big claims.
Disregarding Zonderland's blip at Chantilly last month, we think he's got the right jockey and the right trainer to be the key horse in this one. The best place to back him is at ToteSport, at a very reasonable 5/2.
