Rugby Betting - Latest Odds and Previews

France v Ireland - Six Nations Preview

There is just one Six Nations fixture taking place this weekend, but it is an extremely fascinating one as France host Ireland on Sunday afternoon.

France will be fresh after only playing one game so far - beating Scotland relatively comfortably - while Ireland will be hoping for their second victory in three games after beating Italy and losing to Wales so far.

Rugby betting will no doubt have France as the favourites to win this one, but Ireland will want to show their credentials away from home. This is a big weekend for the Irish.

Ahead of this weekend's clash, Ireland captain Paul O'Connell has called on his team to build on the victory over Italy.

He said: "It was good to get a tough 80 minutes under our belts."

"Paris is always tough and we will not be able to get away with some of the mistakes we made today. We will have to eradicate them. We stuck at the task and to score five tries is satisfying for us."

Coach Declan Kidney added: "We had the courage to play, but what we need to do is get the balance right. That comes with playing together and the more time we spend together the better we'll become."

"But can't go away thinking everything's great just because we scored a few late tries."

Overall, there is no doubt that Ireland will have to improve if they are to get something this weekend. They need to up their game as there is no doubt that the rugby odds are against them.

Looking at the betting for this weekend's clash, France are the 1/3 favourites with Betfred, while Ireland can be backed at 5/2 with Ladbrokes for a memorable away victory. The draw is then 25/1 with Bet Victor.

Overall, it should be a high quality Six Nations battle and it is all set to get underway at 4pm on Sunday afternoon.

England v Wales - Six Nations Preview

Two unbeaten Six Nations records go head to head this weekend as England and Wales do battle at Twickenham on Saturday afternoon.

Rugby betting pundits will know how well Wales have been playin go late, while England have secured two victories from their opening two Six Nations games following a World Cup campaign to forget last season.

This is the first time England wil be playing at Twickenham under their interim coach Stuart Lancaster too, so he will want a positive performance. The atmosphere will certainly be something as these two proud rugby nations do battle once more.

Speaking of Lancaster, he has been speaking to those placing rugby bets about Saturday afternoon's clash with Wales, saying that Owen Farrell is more than capable of being England's main man, brushing aside concerns about his inexperience.

The England coach said: "If you asked the players no one would be concerned in the slightest and neither are the management."

"I wouldn't want to compare any young player to Jonny Wilkinson because I think it sets them up but his core, basic skills are very, very good."

"He's one of the best young players I've ever coached in that regard, whether it's kicking or passing."

"This is a very exciting crop of young English players coming through. We've got to stick with them, have faith in them and give them the international experience they need to develop England into a long-term winning side."

As for the betting odds for this weekend's contest, Wales are the favourites to secure victory at 8/13 with Bet365, while England are 6/4 with Ladbrokes to make it three wins from three Six Nations games in 2012.

In other markets for betting on rugby, Chris Ashton is the 8/1 favourite to score the first try with BetVictor, while George North is 10/1 with Sportingbet. The much discussed Farrel can then be backed at 25/1 with Paddy Power.
