Olympics 2012 - Battle between Bolt and Blake again in the 200m?

On Sunday evening the men’s 100m sprint took centre stage and did not disappoint as Usain Bolt ran the second fastest time ever to retain his Olympic title.

There is no time for celebration though as he will be going for more success in the 200m this week and could make himself an even bigger legend in the Olympic Games should he win back to back gold’s again in this event.

It looks as though the Jamaican will be tough to stop with the form he is in and if he is anywhere near the rest of the pack after the start of the race is likely to blow them away in the final 100m.

The fastest man in the world can be backed at 2/9 with SkyBet to take the gold again in this event.

As with the 100m, it looks as though Bolt’s biggest challenger is fellow countryman and friend Yohan Blake.

Blake took the silver on Sunday evening and some suggest that he may be stronger in this event.

He is in superb form at the moment and does know what it takes to beat Bolt. However, he will need the race of his life to come out on top here.

Looking at the latest betting offer for the young Jamaican, he is available at 7/2 to win his first Olympic gold medal.

After these two it does not really seem as many have too much of a chance of winning the 200m. In fact, the third favourite Wallace Spearman is being offered at 66/1 with Paddy Power.

It is likely that it would take an injury or extremely poor run from Blake and Bolt if they were not to be battling it out for Gold.

In these sprint events though, you never know and someone could spring a surprise. Either way, it is sure to be an enthralling race and the world record could be broken.
