Olympics 2012 - Jamaica and USA set to do battle in 4x100m relay

When Usain Bolt stormed to gold in the 100m final last night, it showed everyone that he is still the world's best. With a top quality line up, he is still the man to beat and without doubt the fastest man in the world.

Now it is time to start looking forward to the 4x100m event. Bolt of course has the 200m to focus on first, but in terms of the betting offers, the relay is a decent event to look forward to.

Unsurprisingly, he and his Jamaican team-mates are the team to beat. With Yohan Blake and Asafa Powell also in the mix, they are unstoppable according to many and this is highlighted by their odds of 4/11 to win gold with Skybet.

If they are to be challenged, it is by USA. They have a trio of 100m finalists in the shape of Tyson Gay, Justin Gatlin and Ryan Bailey and potentially, they can push the Jamaicans all the way.

After all, in any relay event, there is room for mistakes and if Jamaica aren't at their best or drop the baton, the USA will be ready and waiting. You can back the Americans to come through at 13/5.

Beyond these two teams is a long list of outsiders, headed up by Great Britain. Available at 33/1 with Bet365, the home nation are in contention for a medal, but bronze is likely to be the best they can hope for.

Then, of course, if either of the two teams mess up, they have the chance for more. Just to be in contention with around 50 metres to go would be fantastic for Team GB.

Other teams searching for a medal include Trinidad and Tobago, France and Bahamas.

Overall, this is expected to be the Bolt show once again, but stranger things have happened in sport. As ever, it should be on of the most thrilling events of the Olympics.
